Luminare is an invaluable asset to the College, laying the necessary foundation upon which we can continue to build curious, creative, engaged, and resilient learners. Our students stand to benefit significantly from a wellbeing-focused approach that allows us to teach, support, empower, and care for each of them.
At Sheldon College, we have multiple avenues available to support student wellbeing:
- Class and Home Group Teachers: Our dedicated teachers provide wellbeing support as part of their professional duty of care to students. They offer guidance and assistance to ensure students' overall welfare.
- Wellbeing Curriculum: Home Group Teachers deliver targeted wellbeing curriculum to address specific developmental needs of students, helping them navigate various aspects of their personal growth.
- Heads of Year: Our Heads of Year are available to provide wellbeing support to students and parents whenever requested or required. They collaborate with teachers to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- College Directors: Our College Directors are accessible resources for wellbeing support and counselling, providing guidance to students and parents as needed.
- Academic Guidance: The Director of Teaching and Learning and Director of Primary are available to offer academic and course guidance. They assist parents in navigating the best educational path for their children.
- Pathways Advisor: For senior students, the Pathways Advisor assists in developing a career plan and exploring various student and work pathways beyond school.
- College Nurse: Our College Nurse is on hand to assist students in managing their health and physical wellbeing during the school day.
- Psychologist (Provisional): The College Psychology Service provides support to students from Wonderland to Year 12, following the guidelines of the Australian Health Practitioner Registry Association and the Australian Psychological Society.
