We believe that strong, collaborative relationships with families, organisations and groups are essential for enriching educational experiences and contributing to the broader societal fabric.

The Community Engagement Framework adopted by Sheldon College includes five pillars:

 C ommunication

Effective communication is the cornerstone for building and sustaining partnerships between the College, parents, students, and the wider community.  For these partnerships to substantially influence student outcomes, the focus of communication must be centred on student learning and wellbeing.  This involves a true and reciprocal exchange of information and ideas among the students, the College, their families, and the broader community.

Parent Partnerships

Sheldon College is dedicated to building strong partnerships with parents to enhance student wellbeing and academic achievement. Our aim is to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where parent involvement and voice in the educational process is valued and encouraged.

Collaboration with our families is key to developing confident, well-rounded students, ready to meet future challenges.

Community Collaboration

Sheldon College aims to actively collaborate with volunteers, alumni, and business and industry partners, to work together towards common goals, enhancing both education and wellbeing outcomes for all.

College Culture

Sheldon College is committed to fostering a school culture where inclusivity is central to our interactions and decisions. We believe in embracing and respecting the diversity of our students, staff, and community, ensuring that everyone feels valued.

Decision Making

At Sheldon College, we firmly believe in the value of shared decision-making, recognising that it plays a crucial role in fostering a community where every voice is heard and respected. Through consistent and thoughtful consultation, we ensure that the diverse perspectives of our community are not only acknowledged but also integrated into our decision-making processes.

This approach underscores our commitment to making the community feel valued, promoting a sense of belonging and mutual respect. Simultaneously, we maintain a balanced perspective, allowing the school to exercise professional judgment and take necessary actions that align with our educational standards and goals.
