Over the final weeks of the recent school holidays, students in the Musical worked hard on their performances during their 3-day Musical Camp.
Les Misérables is a well-regarded Musical all around the world and is one of the longest-running and most iconic musicals.
Les Misérables tells the story of main character, Jean Valjean, a peasant from France who spends his life seeking redemption after spending an astonishing nineteen years behind bars for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his starving nieces and nephews.
Set in France in the early 1800s, following the aftermath of the French Revolution, Les Misérables is a timeless story of how intertwined destinies reveal the power of compassion and the silent evil of indifference to human suffering.
With a number of leading roles and space for a large ensemble, this Musical has allowed for a rich and diverse cast. Australian School of the Arts students will each have the opportunity to add their own creative flair to their roles, to ensure that a point of difference is created from other Les Misérables productions.
This year’s leading roles will be performed by the following students:
§ Jean Valjean – Zeph Chambers (Year 12)
§ Marius – Anton Bull (Year 11)
§ Javert – Quinn Chambers (Year 12)
§ Fantine – Emma Cobb (Year 12)
§ Cossette – Alivia Hollis (Year 11)

§ Thérnardier – Josh Thompson (Year 11)
