On Monday 14 September, students in Year 8 had the privilege of participating in a Chinese Incursion.

During this incursion, students were able to participate in an array of rotational activities including Chinese paper cutting, ribbon dancing and Kung Fu workshopping.

What really assisted students in developing a deeper understanding of the differences between Chinese culture and Australian culture was being able to sample the food on offer at the lunchtime banquet.

“Trying this food has made us feel more connected with Chinese culture and it has also helped with making today’s learning more rewarding,” stated a number of Year 8 students.

Sheldon College would like to thank all the volunteers and the Confucius Institute QUT (CIQ) facilitators for their time and effort spent making the day a great success for the Year 8 students.
