Monday night saw Sheldon College host the Celebration of Excellence 2021 Secondary Ceremony in recognition of the outstanding academic successes of our Secondary students.
A perennial highlight of the Sheldon College Calendar, the Celebration of Excellence Ceremony sees awards presented to students from Year 7 to Year 12 which reflect individual achievements of excellence in academic, sporting and cultural arenas of College life.

This year, there were again a number of high achieving students who deserved public recognition for ongoing dedication to their studies.

The pinnacle of event was the announcement of the 2021 Sheldon College DUX - Year 12 student, Lachlan Andrews. During his time at the College Lachlan has worked incredibly hard and has demonstrated enormous dedication to all his academic pursuits. 

In addition to the naming of the College Dux, there were also a number of other major awards distributed which included:

  • Senior College Citizenship Award – Kaela Lowry 
  • Ampol All Rounder Award – Zephram Chambers 
  • UQ Achievement Award – Madelize Breet 
  • ADF Long Tan Future Innovator Award Year 12 - Kelli Oldfield
  • ADF Long Tan Future Innovator Award Year 10 - Thomas Kelly
  • ADF Long Tan and Teamwork Award Year 12 – Jared Smith 
  • ADF Long Tan and Teamwork Award Year 10 – Jasmin Lane 
  • MEGT Outstanding School-Based Apprentice/Trainee – Aleksija Vuksan 
  • Tara Johnston Memorial Award – Zunairah Sinha
  • Middle College DUX - David Chiu
  • Middle College Citizenship Award - Charlotte Boniface

As the College prepares to bid farewell to the graduating Year 12 class, we reflect on the many outstanding achievements that each of these talented students has accomplished during their time at the College. We wish them the best of luck and encourage them to continue to learn and grow as they venture on through their lives. Congratulations to all the students recognised for your hard work. We implore you to continue to set the bar high for yourselves and use each day as an opportunity to better yourself, your knowledge and your capabilities.
