Congratulations to Year 12 student, Bailey Meares, the new AusCycling Junior Mens National Champion for Pump Track.

Held recently in Maydena, Tasmania, Bailey rode blistering times in multiple events at the National Championships, ultimately taking Gold in the Pump Track event.

A great example of the success that a balanced approach to schooling can deliver, Bailey is part of our Aspiring Athletes Program which aims to empower students to achieve personal excellence through the learning and development of high-performance habits, physical health and sporting pathways. In addition to his sporting success, since the age of six, Bailey has been an actor/extra/model in films and advertisements and is a familiar face in the Sheldon College Arts programs. This year Bailey is one of the leads in Mamma Mia the Musical, playing the role of Eddie.

We wish Bailey all the best as he prepares for the Mountain Bike Downhill discipline at the 2022 Oceania Cycling Championships in Kooralbyn next month.
