The Australian School of the Arts Percussion Ensemble 1, have once again done the College proud by taking out the National Title for the third consecutive year, scoring themselves a trifecta.

This year, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod was held virtually, enabling contestants from around Australia and also from New Zealand. Entrants were required to send through video performances that took place during Term 3 or Term 4.

Thanks to the talent of Mr Murray James and his capable ASTA Film and TV students, along with Mr David Freeman the students were able to submit a quality professional standard production for judging.

Sheldon College is the first school to have won the Eisteddfod for three consecutive years having taken out first place in 2015, 2018, 2019 and now in 2020.

Additionally, in the B Grade competition, Sheldon College took out 2nd place (Gold Medal) which is another wonderful achievement.

Congratulations to all of the talented students who took part in this competition. Your hard work and dedication to performing most certainly paid off. An additional thank you to Mr David Adelt, Head of Instrumental Music, for helping to prepare these students throughout the year.
