Guitar Ensembles

Strummers

One of the instruments offered in Year 4 is Guitar, and students form a weekly ensemble called the Strummers. Guitarists learn to read and play melodies and chords, all the while enjoying their first taste of an instrumental ensemble. Students have one rehearsal per week and lessons are scheduled during the College academic timetable. This group has the opportunity to perform throughout the year at both formal and casual events.

Guitar Ensemble

At Sheldon College, the Guitar Ensemble is the next step for guitarists once they have completed their studies in the Strummers. The group performs a wide range of repertoire, from classical to rock and pop music. The goal of the Guitar Ensemble is to improve skills in music reading, ensemble performance and rehearsal techniques, so that the students are then equipped to progress into the middle and upper levels of the ensemble program.
